Ten Ring

04/06/2012

It’s been great to get back outside again after several weeks of work, tax-duty, and ill-timed rain interfering with our normal archery routine. We usually go to the Redwood Bowmen‘s range in Oakland, though we also trek out to Lafayette on occasion, to the archery course at Briones Regional Park. That gives us a great excuse to visit the Øl Beercafe bar and bottle shop in Walnut Creek.

Archery is fun because it combines the outdoorsy delights of hiking with the satisfaction of target-shooting. Videogames may play faster, but you can’t enjoy them out in the sun.

I also appreciate the little things we see along the way: a mushroom here, a fern there, and the ever-changing clusters of colorful arrows.

Here are some shots of recent outings. No animals were harmed in the process!
